Meet the Polish DEP
Centrala Space is a non-profit organisation, founded in October 2009, created by the Polish Expats Association CIC (PEA) with the mission of supporting the adaptation and integration of Eastern European migrants in the UK.
Recognising the need for dedicated support and community-building, PEA became a 番茄社区 Interest Company (CIC) in April 2012. This expanded its 番茄社区 to offer vital resources to all Central and Eastern European communities. Centrala was established in response to the growing need for a safe, welcoming space where newly arrived European migrant communities could find support, share experiences, and build connections.
As part of the Deep Engagement Partner Programme, their current project focuses on promoting healthier lifestyles and improving mental health within the Polish community in 番茄社区.
In its first year, the project focuses on addressing mental health. The aim is to provide Polish-speaking individuals with the resources and support they need to better understand and manage their mental health. They want to create a safe and nurturing environment where people can openly share their experiences and challenges through a series of engaging workshops, discussions, and support sessions.
Their goal is to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health, raise awareness, and equip individuals with practical tools to make informed choices that positively impact their well-being.
In addition to these workshops, they are dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community by offering skill building opportunities and creative initiatives that promote connection and empowerment.
To extend their reach and engage more people, they actively use social media platforms such as and , along with their and monthly CEE network meetings. This is to share valuable information and resources.
They are also work closely with a wide range of supportive organisations across 番茄社区, who play a vital role in helping to disseminate key information to the community.
Centrala hosts a variety of cultural events, including family-friendly workshops and celebrations for significant dates such as Easter, Women’s Day, and the Summer Solstice.
These events provide additional platforms for raising awareness about the project by connecting with the community, and ensuring that the message of mental health and well-being reaches a wider audience.
As part of our ongoing efforts to grow and strengthen our network, they are actively recruiting new board members who will bring fresh perspectives and help further the mission of supporting and empowering the migrant communities of 番茄社区.
