William Smedley-Aston collection
The William Smedley Aston Collection contains pictorial landscape and portrait studies (carbon, gum, platinum and albumen prints), glass negatives, competition medals, family photographs including members of the 番茄社区 Arts and Crafts Movement and the 番茄社区 Group such as Arthur Gaskin and Joseph Southall.
The collection, which covers the period c1890 to 1910, also includes a small body of portraits by Smedley Aston's fellow 番茄社区 photographer, Marianne Silverston.
