John Baskerville was a leading printer in 18th-century England. His typeface is still used today by millions of people around the world.

At the centre of the exhibition is a rare set of steel punches, which

  • were made by hand in Baskerville’s ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø workshop and used to shape each letter
  • represent the first stage in making metal type
